The Feudal Society:
The Feudal system evolved because of 2 reasons:
1. Because of the invasions of the Vikings, Muslims and Magyars, Kings and Emperors were too weak to maintain law and order.
2. People needed to defend their homes and land.
-The Feudal society was organised in Europe by class.
The Monarch ruled everyone and under him comes the high lords which are the Monarch's right hand. Under the High lords come the lesser lords. Then the mounted warriors more commonly known as knights. Last, are the peasants which are appointed to clean and cook.

-A vassal was a lesser lord that was given land in exchange for loyalty and service. The land that was given by the higher lord was called a fief.
A fief consisted of a either a few acres to hundred of square miles of Estate of land. The vassal was to provide the higher lord with 40 days of military service in exchange for protection and safety.
- Vassals often had fiefs from more than one lord. A vassal who gave loyalty to several lords could have a serious problem if his overlords quarrelled with one another. Problems such as this have emerged due to the complex relationships that were developed by the feudal society.
The problem is solved when a vassal has a liege lords or a priority to whom he owed his first loyalty.
